This week's task was to imagine the year is 2200 and the number of people living in our space has doubled, fossil fuels have been banned, people no longer drive cars, people increasingly want to grow their own food.

RECYCLING

Grouped/shared compost/rubbish/recycling/compost + worm farms

Waste segregation

This is the separation of wet waste and dry waste. The purpose is to recycle dry waste easily and to use wet waste as compost. When segregating waste, the amount of waste that gets land-filled reduces considerably, resulting in lower levels of air and water pollution.

Recommended color coding of containers

• Yellow- for infectious waste

• Brown- for chemical and pharmaceutical waste

• Black- for general waste

Passive solar building design

and passive solar building design, windows, walls, and floors are made to collect, store, reflect, and distribute solar energy, in the form of heat in the winter and reject solar heat in the summer
